Job purpose
The Junior Executive – Finance is responsible for assisting in financial operations, maintaining accurate records, processing invoices, and supporting budgeting and compliance activities. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the smooth execution of financial processes and contributes to the financial health of the organization by maintaining accurate financial data and assisting in audits and reporting.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Financial Reporting and Documentation:
- Assist in preparing financial reports, reconciliations, and statements.
- Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with company policies.
- Support financial analysis to identify trends and variances.
Accounts Payable and Receivable Management:
- Process vendor invoices, payments, and employee reimbursements.
- Assist in tracking receivables and following up on outstanding payments.
- Ensure timely reconciliation of accounts and proper documentation.
Budgeting and Forecasting Support:
- Support the finance team in budget preparation and tracking.
- Assist in analyzing financial data to support budgetary decisions.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities in operational expenses.
Taxation and Compliance:
- Assist in preparing and filing tax documents as per local regulations.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and corporate policies.
- Maintain necessary records for audits and financial inspections.
Financial Process Optimization:
- Work with finance teams to improve efficiency in financial transactions.
- Support automation initiatives and ERP system enhancements.
- Ensure smooth execution of day-to-day financial operations.
Education requirements: Graduate level education in Finance & Accounting or Business Administration
Certifications preferred are CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
Language requirements: English – Fluent (required)
Background and experience
- Financial Management Expertise: 1 – 3 years of experience of financial reporting, budgeting, and cost management principles.
- Accounting Knowledge: Familiarity with accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP), ledger management, and reconciliation processes.
- Regulatory Compliance: Basic understanding of tax laws, financial regulations, and corporate compliance policies.
- ERP and Financial Systems: Experience with financial management software (Tally, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) for recording and tracking financial transactions.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable Management: Exposure to vendor payments, invoice processing, and collections.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to assess financial data, identify discrepancies, and propose corrective actions.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy in financial transactions and documentation.
- Communication and Collaboration: Experience working with finance teams, auditors, and external stakeholders.
- Industry Exposure: Preferred experience in finance and accounting within corporate settings, auditing firms, or financial institutions.
