Job Description

We are seeking an experienced SQL Database Administrator (DBA) with 7–8 years of hands-on experience in Microsoft SQL Server administration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, security, and reliability of enterprise database environments. This is an onsite contract opportunity based in Saudi Arabia.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases across development, testing, and production environments.
• Monitor database performance and implement tuning, optimization, and capacity planning.
• Manage database backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.
• Configure and support High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HADR) solutions, including Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, Log Shipping, and Replication.
• Perform database upgrades, migrations, patching, and maintenance activities.
• Ensure database security by managing user access, permissions, encryption, and compliance.
• Troubleshoot database performance issues and resolve incidents in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and support teams during deployments and production support.
• Develop and maintain database administration documentation, standards, and best practices.

Required Skills

• 7–8 years of experience as a Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator.
• Strong experience with SQL Server 2016/2019/2022.
• Expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and execution plan analysis.
• Hands-on experience with backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Experience with SQL Server Always On, Replication, Log Shipping, and Failover Clustering.
• Strong knowledge of T-SQL scripting and SQL Server Agent jobs.
• Familiarity with database monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Basic knowledge of Windows Server administration.
• Experience with Azure SQL or AWS RDS is an added advantage.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Microsoft SQL Server certifications are preferred.
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise production environments.
