Job Summary:
We are hiring a Senior Planning Engineer on behalf of our client in the contracting industry, specializing in building and villa construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, ensuring that all milestones are achieved within the defined scope, budget, quality, and time parameters. This role demands strong coordination with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure efficient resource management and proactive mitigation of potential delays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, covering all project stages from mobilization to handover.
- Prepare baseline programs, progress updates, look-ahead schedules, and delay/recovery programs as required.
- Coordinate closely with project managers, site teams, procurement, and subcontractors to align progress and resources with project timelines.
- Perform critical path analysis, identify potential risks, and recommend corrective measures to maintain schedule adherence.
- Track and report project performance through S-curves, histograms, and earned value analysis (EVA).
- Support tendering and estimation teams by preparing resource-loaded programs, manpower histograms, and project schedules.
- Generate weekly and monthly progress reports for internal management and client review.
- Participate in project progress meetings and present updated schedule forecasts and status reports.
- Collaborate with QA/QC, cost control, and procurement teams to ensure integrated project control and reporting.
- Ensure all planning and scheduling processes comply with company procedures and project specifications.
Key Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 8 years of planning and scheduling experience, preferably within UAE-based contracting companies.
- Proven experience in building and villa projects (high-rise project experience is an advantage).
- Strong proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Excel, and MS Project.
- Excellent understanding of construction methodologies, resource planning, and project control principles.
- Strong analytical, coordination, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple schedules and work efficiently under pressure.
Preferred Experience:
- Exposure to Abu Dhabi and Dubai authority standards (ADM, RERA, DEWA, Civil Defense, etc.).
- Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and EOT claim preparation.
- Previous involvement in luxury villa or mixed-use building projects.
